Every time I receive a submission from Studio Cabrelli, I can hardly contain my excitement. I already know we will be featuring it before we even open the image folder – they are in a league of their own! So, when this little gem popped into my inbox, I knew I wouldn’t be able to wait until the New Year to share it with you all! Andrea and Fabian are just such a great couple and their love for each other is so beautifully captured, I nearly felt part of their ceremony looking through the images- might even have wiped a small tear from my eye! For me, this is what a French wedding is all about – the venue is simply stunning and the sort of place memories are meant to be made in and Fabian and Andrea look blissfully happy surrounded by their family and friends there.
Ah ah ahh… before we make it up the aisle, we had to find out how this lovely pair got there in the first place..
“We met at the university where we were both studying and bit by bit, we started to fall in love despite the fact that we had totally different attitudes and very different views on all sorts of issues. Having said that, Fabian and I shared an obsession for “Lakerol” candies and have them to thank for staying awake during lectures! The proposal was just as sweet but we wanted to keep that memory to ourselves :-)”
“We spent our first holidays in La Suzette and Malaucene and since then, have gone back to visit “la Provence” at least once a year. The region became a special place of calm and inspiration and we wanted to celebrate our wedding in such an ambiance. So, we visited several possible locations and chose “le Chateau du Martinet” because of its history and architecture, its garden and peace, and above all because of its superb managers Sophie and Vincent.”
“The biggest challenge while planning our wedding was the physical distance between where we were living and where the party was to be celebrated. It required a lot of time and travel in order to meet different providers such as caterers, photographers, musicians, hairdressers and so on. But at the same time, we very much liked spending so much time together, planning and realising the wedding preparations and enjoying the Provence in very different seasons.”
“Our vision for our wedding was just to keep the love burning 🙂 For the wedding, we did not work with a wedding planner but organised most things by ourselves. What made the wedding unique probably had less to do with our contribution and more to do with our guests and suppliers instead. We combined the wedding with a holiday arriving a few days before it and leaving a few days after the wedding. This time with our family and best friends was amazing. It was like having a full week of celebrations with the wedding as the highlight.”
We loved Andrea’s answer to “what was the best decision you made?’
“The very best decision we made was to say “yes” of course! The second best decision was having our friends Rebecca and Roger as witnesses.”
Chateau du Martinet comes highly recommended by the bride and groom and judging by the photographs, it looks like a dream setting. Their timeless photographs was taken by the wonderful Studio Cabrelli, no strangers to Fly Away Bride and also, highly recommended not just by us, but all of the brides and grooms we have featured that hired them! Andrea and Fabian also had great things to say about their caterer, Helen Traiteur and Jazz Cote d’Azur kept Fabian, Andrea and all of their guests dancing all night long. A big thanks a congratulations to Andrea and Fabian and of course, to the fab Studio Cabrelli.
