Myndi and Dennis definitely knew what they wanted when they began planning their wedding. Their big day had to be unique and entertaining for their guests, but most importantly, it had to showcase who they are.
“There was no single thing that inspired the design and concept behind our wedding,” Myndi says. “Dennis and I really wanted our wedding to ooze our personalities.” That mission was accomplished. When either of them had a new idea, like giving their guests slap bracelets as thank you gifts, they did it. The couple paid for their wedding on their own, so many of the choices they made were based on their budget. This allowed them to expand their creativity, especially with DIY projects, like making their own ring bearer pillows and centerpieces. Both Dennis and Myndi had different favorite moments from their special day. For Dennis, it was seeing his beautiful bride walk out from the bridal room and begin her walk down the aisle. Myndi loved their little getaway from the reception to watch the sunset together while their guests were eating dinner.
“Finally, we had a moment to spend together alone and enjoy what just took place.” she says. It was truly magical. One of the most memorable moments of the day was Dennis having to pick up his suit on the big day after being given one that was four sizes too big earlier in the week. “Thank goodness he checked.” Myndi says.
The bride and groom would like to suggest a few tips to all the engaged couples preparing for their big day.
1. If the groom plans to rent or alter his suit or tuxedo, make sure he does this a few days before the wedding and not wait until the last minute. (Read above…)
2. Eat at the reception! You paid for it, so enjoy it. Sit back and relax for awhile because for most of the reception you will be back and forth doing different things.
