A Colourful Day of the Dead Inspired Wedding – Hamden & Faye

Good afternoon Blog for Bride readers! I have a brightly coloured and beautiful Day of the Dead inspired wedding shot by Emma of Brighton based Emmest Photography to share with you. The featured couple, Hamden and Faye, chose the Mexican celebration as their theme because they met on a blind date in which they spent the entire evening watching horror movies and wanted to reference the phrase “till death do us part” in a tongue and cheek kinda way.

Following their engagement Hamden spent all year painstakingly cutting out Papel Picardo, traditional mexican paper cuttings to hang in the barn as he refused to have traditional bunting! He created hundreds of these in the typical neon colours as decorations to brighten up the barn and they looked absolutely fantastic!

The bridesmaids were dressed in matching bright colours and carried fans instead of bouquets, while the groomsmen donned matching ties and socks.

The bride and groom enlisted the help of the infamous Choccywoccydoodah team for their cake and their seating chart referenced horror film themes. Faye handmade her own bouquet after scouring antique shops and flea markets for niknaks to include which offset her beautiful David Fielden dress perfectly.

Thanks so much to Emma for sharing this awesome wedding, make sure to check out the Emmest Photography website for more details.
