Castle of Vinelas

Castle of Vinelas is a fortified palace within the Soto de Viñuelas protected nature reserve, integrated in the Regional Park of the Upper Manzanares River Basin, which is inside the municipality of Madrid.

Description

The Castle Grounds is a large natural environment that covers 32 hectares, criss-crossed by streams. The estate comprises an oak forest, surrounded by a stone wall, with numerous areas of special interest such as gullies or natural springs.

Dating from the 17th century, the Castle building has since been refurbished for use as a venue for celebrations and events.  With a square floor-plan and built in covered brick, the front of the building stands out for its ornamentation. There is a balcony on the first floor that rests on columns, thereby creating a portico. The image of the exterior is completed by four round towers each with four floors. In its interior it has a wide variety of halls and gardens that afford different atmospheres.
