Description
The Château de Bourron site, in the commune of Bourron-Marlotte in Seine-et-Marne, has always been extremely favorable for human settlement: between the Fontainebleau forest to the north, and the Loing valley to the south, near ‘a constant source of the name of Saint-Sévère.
The park of Bourron castle, enclosed by walls, spreads its 40 hectares of lawn and wood, in the extension of the forest of Fontainebleau. He reveals a few surprises: hidden behind the small house, the romantic spring from the Neolithic period called Source Saint-Sévère which gives birth to the canal; the statue of Ceres which closes the north parterre, that of Saint Joseph by Fernand Py under the forest and the house of Artagnan. But the major axis of this French-style park remains the great perspective, led to the south by the canal and the alleys of lime trees which gives the Château de Bourron all its grandeur. Site registered in the additional inventory since 1926 and classified since 1971 as Historic Monuments.
