Description
When we visited, we loved the estate’s first impression. As we approached along the cypress tree avenue, we marvelled at the sight of the chateau, standing gracefully with its elegant turrets, framed by vineyards, forests and the Pyrenees mountains on the horizon.
Stepping through the chateau doors we were then taken aback by the classy interiors, the harmonious design throughout the various spaces and the curated furniture and art.
Now, let’s picture how your wedding stay could be organised…
On the Friday, treat your guests to a wine tasting session before gathering everyone for a buffet on one of the terraces.
On your big day, have the religious blessing in the local church, in the gardens, or (our favourite option!) by the gorgeously chiseled green house. The rumour has it that it was built by no other than Gustave Eiffel! (AKA Mr Eiffel Tower).
For the wedding dinner, here again you will have plenty of indoor and outdoors possibilities, such as the main terrace with its gorgeous vistas or a marquee by the pool.
The party will continue in the wine cellar, that looks like an atmospheric French café, with subdued lighting, large leather sofas and paintings on the walls.
On the day after, savour a delicious brunch with your guests in a lovely wooded clearing of the domaine before winding down by the infinity pool.
It is worth mentioning that we were lucky enough to taste the food. We were impressed with the high quality and presentation, so you’ll be in good hands there when it comes to deliver to your guests an unforgettable wedding dinner.
Finally, as mentioned, the domaine can sleep up to 124 people, in 30 suites, cottages and flats. We love the high standard of the accommodation, each area oozing with style and comfort. Plus 10 of the larger properties have their own private pools and gardens.
The chateau also has a tennis and volley ball court, as well as a pétanque pitch, BBQ equipment and courtesy bicycles.
To summarise, we think that Chateau Legrand would perfectly suit a couple wanting a refined yet chilled wedding in an outstanding chateau offering all the conveniences of an in-house wedding planning and catering team.
Things to do nearby: On site, you can explore the area by foot or by bike, play tennis, pétanque, or even beach volley ball!
Not far from the chateau, you’ll be able to treat yourself to all sorts of activities, from many water sports to paragliding. Horse riding is well worth a go if you want to explore the area. 5 minutes away from the domaine is the famous and scenic Canal du Midi: the staff at the chateau could book a barge for you where you will sample some local wines accompanied with delicious delicacies.
