It’s that glorious time of year again where the world’s fashion houses take to the runways to show off their latest creations and last week, all eyes were on Paris for Haute Couture Week. Sure enough, it didn’t disappoint. There was a whole lot of beautiful on display and although the focus wasn’t bridal, I couldn’t let this week pass without featuring the latest from my all time favourite designer, Elie Saab- what can I say, I’m nothing if not faithful! Taking inspiration from “The Roses of Heliogabalus” by Dutch artist Sir Lawrence Alma-Tadema, a painted scene where the Roman Emperor attempts to smother unsuspecting guests with rose petals, the collection is a mixture of the Lebanese designer’s signature sheer, appliqué and heavily embroidered style in shimmering pinks, lilacs and yellows alongside an arresting trio of gazar dresses in a floral print that fade to white from black with a burst of colour in between. A lot of inspiration for brides and bridesmaids alike.
