During a live at-home taping of the Ellen DeGeneres Show, Jennifer Lopez revealed exactly how the COVID-19 pandemic has impacted her upcoming nuptials to Alex Rodriguez, USA Today reports. “It did affect it a little bit, so we will see what happens now. Honestly, I really don’t know what’s going to happen now as far as dates or anything like that,” she told the host during the show’s at-home broadcast. “We’re kind of just in a holding pattern like the rest of the world. It’s just something we’re going to have to wait and see in a few months how this all pans out.”
While Jennifer isn’t planning to rush to the altar quite yet, Ellen still shared her idea to help them tie the knot sooner than later: “This is my two cents, you take it or leave it. If the TikToks are extremely popular that you’re putting out there, if the two of you got married in your house and posted it on Instagram…do you know how happy it would make people if we could watch the wedding?” The bride-to-be wasn’t too enthusiastic, simply replying: “It’s something to think about.”
Jennifer also shared that this time is giving her a much-needed breather after a packed start to 2020. “I’ve been so on the run for the past few years that it’s nice to be home. I planned to take a little time off after the whole Super Bowl thing and ‘World of Dance,’ that I just finished filming a few weeks ago, so it’s been nice so far.” she said. “Right now it’s kind of making lemonade out of lemons.”
Even in the middle of the pandemic, she noted that being able to spend quality time with family has made her outlook on the situation more positive. “It’s a terrible time for all of us, and a weird time, a scary time, anxious time. We don’t know what’s going to happen, but having a reconnection with the family and Alex and not having to run around so much, it’s kind of nice, too.”
