I say it alot, but I’m in love with this afternoon’s post. The idea of eloping has always been appealing to me so I really enjoy featuring these posts and seeing how other people decided to do it. Miguel and Jessica really went the whole hog with a city of Rome elopement and they did it so well, managing to find a perfect balance between being tourists and a couple very much in love. Their photographer Luke Liable travelled with them from Canada and captured the mood and essence of their elopement perfectly. And now we’re just dying to show you the rest of the photographs!
The first look in St. Peter’s Square – there is something incredibly romantic even with the spectators!
I love these wedding pictures outside the Colosseum, you will be hard pushed to find a better background for wedding portraits we think!
Their photographer, Luke Liable gave us a little insight into Jessica and Miguels Rome elopement;
“The day began with getting ready and then doing a big reveal in the one and only Saint Peter’s Square right in the middle of the Vatican City. There was at least 3000 people watching and cheering throughout the square. They did elope, but it never felt for a second that people weren’t celebrating with them. Every few seconds another stranger would congratulate them or want a photo with them! It was an insane experience which none of us will forget. Miguel and Jess had written their own vows for the “ceremony” which was so intimate and touching. They devoted and promised their lives to each other under the outer columns of Saint Peter’s Square. The rest of the day was spent traveling around Rome. From the Vatican we travelled to the Colosseum, then to the “old city of Rome”, Altare della Patria, back to the streets of Rome, to the Trevi Fountain and finally finishing our day drinking champagne right next to the Pantheon. It was an extraordinary experience to capture this momentous day for Miguel and Jess. Enjoy a small window into what Roma, Italia has to offer!”
Enjoy the rest of your Tuesday and if you are thinking of eloping to Rome, hopefully this afternoon’s post has helped you make up your mind! See you tomorrow for our Wednesday Wishlist!
