As you might know, we’re delighted here at Blog For Bride when we find designers that aren’t afraid to think outside the box. We’re in love with the one of a kind wedding gowns crafted by Kitsch Bitsch from antique lace- they are not only beautiful and unique but are also a sustainable alternative to the traditional wedding dress. The designer behind the brand, Alyssa, has more details for us:
“All of our dresses are made from antique cotton lace which we salvage from all over the world. Some of the pieces of lace we find are handmade and over 100 years old. Each dress we create is unique, each dress has a history and a story to tell. My designs are inspired by the resourcefulness of previous generations, such the Edwardian era, where small scraps of handmade lace were often pieced together to create beautiful patchwork wedding gowns. I am also inspired by the free-spirited 1960’s and 70’s, so my designs appeal to the bohemian bride looking for an unconventional wedding dress. Our bricks and mortar store is located in Sydney, Australia. We also have an online store which allows us to reach customers across the globe. We sell ready-made dresses, most of which take between 4 and 7 hours to make. However the majority of our work is custom-orders from international customers.”
