Rome, Italy ✈ Venue Spotlight

So after our wedding planning trip to Rome before our own wedding last year I thought I’d share some of the wonderful wedding venues we visited and today I am concentrating on the Piazza di Spagna, Spanish Steps, area in Rome’s city center.

The Spanish Steps is one of the most atmospheric and lively areas of Rome center. The elegant staircase consists of 137 steps over twelve different flights. It is especially beautiful in May, when it is overflowing with vibrant pink azaleas. The steps are usually very crowded, used as a gathering place for both locals and tourists.

If you’re looking for a city center location for your wedding it’s the perfect area to begin your search. I have three wonderful wedding venues to share with you today, so lets get started…

Hotel Hassler

Hotel Hassler is a beautiful hotel at the top of the Spanish Steps, very exclusive, with a garden room, the Palm Court, on the ground floor and a roof top terrace on the seventh floor both wedding reception venue options. The roof top terrace will take your breath away, the panoramic views are truly stunning and unmatched by any other views in Rome. The terrace fits max. 26 people seated and is ideal for a small intimate wedding or alternatively an arrival cocktail reception. Both locations are weather permitting, in case of unfavourable weather your wedding will be moved to one of their indoor sala, which are also very opulent. Other room options can cater for up to 100 seated and up to 200 cocktail party.

De La Ville Hotel

De La Ville Hotel next door to the Hassler, again is located at the top of the Spanish Steps. It really is a beautiful venue in an Art Deco style, with such a wonderful atmosphere. There is a private garden area perfect for arrival drinks which leads through to a private room just off the garden perfect for your wedding meal and celebrations. Use of these two areas is exclusive to the wedding party. The only restriction is on late night music, which seems to be standard throughout Rome. There is a rooftop terrace on the 6th floor with amazing views over Rome, a great space possibly to finish off a magical wedding night!

Il Palazzetto

Il Palazzetto is a small boutique Hotel in a wonderfully restored 16-century building, located to one side of the Spanish Steps overlooking the hustle and bustle at the center of Rome’s electric atmosphere. It hosts a rooftop terrace, perfect for arrival cocktails, a panoramic terrace on the 4th floor overlooking the Spanish Steps which holds up to 30 guests seated and a garden located on the second floor which can hold up to 50 guests seated and and 120 buffet style. You are guaranteed an atmospheric evening in Il Palazzetto!
