The Royal Wedding An Inspiration

The Royal Wedding has come and gone and although I tried to work for the day and dip in and out of the coverage I couldn’t help but become completely distracted. Once I saw Catherine in her stunning wedding gown designed by Sarah Burton, I was glued!

Catherine and William’s Royal wedding will no doubt inspire weddings for years to come, here are some of the many highlights from the day.
William in his a Colonel of the Irish Guards uniform. I love the red, a great choice…
Catherine on her way to Westminster Abbey with her very symbolic bouquet; sweet william for gallantry, hyacinths for love, ivy for fidelity and marriage, lily of the valley for happiness and, in royal tradition, myrtle, for marriage and love. I love Lily of the Valley, one of my personal favourites…
Catherine’s wedding gown and veil were very reminiscent of Princess Grace of Monaco, very elegant, very beautiful.
The flowergirls wore beautiful crowns of flowers in their hair and the page boys were just adorable!
Catherine kept with traditions wearing something old, something new, something borrowed and something blue. Something Old; The lace in her dress was crafted using traditional techniques. Something New; her diamond leaf-shaped earrings were a gift from her parents. Something Borrowed; her glittering 1936 Cartier halo-style tiara that was lent to her by the Queen. The tiara has been in the Royal Family since it was purchased by King George VI for the Queen Mother. Something Blue; here engagement ring famously featuring a stunning sapphire and she also had a small piece of blue ribbon sewn into her dress.
Pippa Catherine’s sister wore a white gown also designed by Sarah Burton. A beautiful gown, perfect for a bride looking for an elegant and simple deisgn…
The aisle at Westminster Abbey was lined with trees which are to be planted after the ceremony.
William struggled slightly to place the wedding ring on Catherine’s finger…
Simply stunning!
Catherine really was a beautiful bride…
The couple treated the public to not one but two kisses on the balcony at Buckingham Palace.
The wedding cake was a stunning masterpiece of traditional fruitcake covered in white icing.
The couple left their reception in Prince Charles Vintage Aston Martin.
Both Catherine and William changed for the evening celebrations. Catherine’s evening dress was also designed by Sarah Burton.
A big heartfelt congratulation to Catherine and William, they looked so in love and happy!
