Good afternoon BlorForBride readers! Hope you enjoyed the bank holiday weekend and had some time to spend planning your fabulous weddings. Following this year’s earlier feature of OMG’s own MOB in Reverie Magazine (launching it’s second quarterly edition this Thursday!) I thought I would share a few of my favourite picks for the modern mother of the bride. Enjoy!

- DVF Liluye maxi dress
DVF is easily known as the designer who transformed the way women wear dresses. She understands how women want to feel in their clothes and creates absolutely stunning prints and dresses for both day and evening. While black and white might feel a bit too clase to your wedding dress, if your maids are wearing white, why not include your mum as well, while allowing her to stand out a bit too.
- Issey Miyake Pleats Please
My mum wore Issey Miyake and she now makes yearly trips to the boutique here in London she loves it so much. With a 1 size fits all strategy, it sounds crazy, but creates a totally unique, textured and flattering look.
- Valentino Red Pantsuit
Be bold with colour and go for a pantsuit. I love this Valentino piece and want it for my own wardobe too! Pair it with a super chic clutch and fab shoes and you’re good to go.
- Rick Owens Three-Quarter-Sleeve Kite Gown
Having a more laid back reception? Go fro draping that will flatter your shape and rain comfortable throughout the evening.
- Tadashi Shoji Draped Lace Bodice Gown
I love a bit of Tadashi Shoji – this combination of lace and draping is elegant, modest but still current.
- Osman Cape Back Dress
Again, if your bridesmaids are going for white, why not choose a classic shape in the same shade for your MOB? Imagine the cape moving as your mum walks down the aisle. Understated elegance at it’s best.
- Dolce & Gabbana Lace Dress
No one can resist a good Dolce & Gabbana dress. If your mum has the figure to flaunt, see how she feels about this gorgeous pink lace dress with a modest length sleeve but sexy silhouette.
- Badgley Mischka Portrait-Collar Peplum Dress
Go for glam with this exaggerated neckline for a black tie event.
- Michael Kors Gold Shift Dress
No one does understated classic chic like Michael Kors. Gold makes this simple shape feel fancy and fabulous.
- Tadashi Shoji Cap Sleeve Dress
Last but not least, another Tadashi Shoji dress, this time with little cap sleeves
