Un Air de Bonheur ✈ Coco Chanel Inspiration Shoot Part 2

All this week we have been featuring our Coco Chanel inspiration shoot that we produced last January in Paris and today, we thought that you might be interested in seeing some of the inspirational images we collected ourselves while planning Un Air de Bonheur and get an idea of how it all translated. Not all of the images below were part of our inspiration board, we actually added a few more to make it more in line with our other colour features but you will get the general idea! We really wanted to share this with our readers to show you just how invaluable creating a mood or inspiration board can be. For one, it was something Amy and I could focus on when it came to colour, the overall feeling and style to the design. It also inspired other ideas and specific detail features during brainstorming sessions. Thirdly, we used it as a visual tool and shared with our our vendors so that they could get an idea of  what we were thinking, allowing them to work independently on their own designs. Finally, when it came to planning and packing, it enabled us to build a reliable checklist and we managed not to forget a thing!

Pinterest is an invaluable tool when it comes to planning anything nowadays and gathering images to build a board has never been easier. It is however very easy to get carried away so make sure you regularly delete images that don’t fit in with the rest of your board. A handsome groom in a velvet black tux pinned beside another image of 4 groomsmen in tweed caps and patterned ties is not helpful. Before sharing your finished board with your vendors, make sure it somewhat consistent. If there are ideas in there that look out of place, add comments under the images to explain why they are there. Maybe you like the colours but not the flowers or perhaps you like a basic idea but want it recreated to suit your overall style.

To cap off our Coco Chanel styled shoot, Rodolphe from Best Day Productions was there with us creating this gem as we went. (And driving us around the streets of Paris- if you’ve ever been, you’ll realise why we were so grateful for this!) If you haven’t already come across Best Day Productions you definitely have to check them out.

Here are Part One and Part Two of our Coco Chanel wedding inspiration from earlier in the week. Now take a look at this.. un air de bonheur from best day productions on Vimeo. Don’t you just love the music? The video captures so perfectly the essence of what the shoot was about: simplicity and elegance. Lindsay and I want to take this opportunity to thank each and every one of the wonderful vendors, and models, that made this shoot possible- but, more than that, made it beautiful.. and FUN. Speaking of which, here’s some of what went on. We couldn’t have been happier with the result and hope to work with all of these guys again soon!
