The ceremony is only the beginning of a wedding the good stuff all happens at the reception. That is when everyone gets to let loose and dance. But no one can dance if the music is not good, that is why you need to make sure that your wedding songs rock. There are several ways that you can go about planning great music for your wedding. You can line up all of the songs that you want to play yourself or you can hire a great disc jockey to do it for you. If there are any particular songs that you want to hear you can request them and he or she will play them for you. Wedding songs are important they are what will set the tone and the mood of the entire reception. And while of course you will want to hear some romantic songs your guests will also want some lively music that they can really jive to.
Don’t let the sheer number of songs in the world freak you out. If just the thought of doing it all yourself is giving you panic attacks hire a good DJ. You can then sit down with them and they will be able to help you in a big way. Hire a DJ that is experienced in wedding songs, that way they will be able to tell you what worked and what didn’t at their previous gigs. DJs are much cheaper than hiring live bands to play. Choosing the wedding song that you and your partner will dance your first dance to is another matter entirely. This is something that is strictly between the two of you. DO you have a special song? If not is there any one song that always stood out to you because of the meaning that it held? If so talk about it, and if you both like the song you may want to choose that as your wedding song.
If you are worried about your wedding songs costing you money with the DJ and all there are some tings that you can do to keep the costs to a minimum. You might want to check out universities in your area. Many students are talented musicians and some of them moonlight as DJs. Some might even be part of a great band that could play your wedding songs for you. If you are unsure how to find these students you could ask the music professor, they should know the most gifted students. You could also get a hold of a great prerecorded tape to use. This is significantly cheaper than having live music. If you have your heart set on live music think about how many you really need. Perhaps you could cut down the number of musicians you hire this can lessen the cost significantly.
