Please take this list with you while preparing for your wedding and the purchase of your DJ / MC.
The List:
• What is the DJS’ Experience? How long/how many parties etc. ?
• Ask for three references and letters of recommendation from three recent weddings.
• How does the DJ handle the variety of music needed to appeal to you and your guests and how, when and why to play it
• How does the DJ handle requests at reception and still keep the variety flowing ? (and still include the wedding theme of “elegant but fun”)
• How much and what medium (CD,vinyl, tape) of music is brought to your reception?
• How does the DJ mix and blend the dance music ? (speed and style versus
just arbitrarily playing tunes)
• What does the DJ do to get your party going and keep it going ?
• How does the DJ set up and adjust not only the volume but speaker location so as to not “blow the hair off of Grandma ?”
• Does the DJ talk into their microphone much and how and why does the DJ talk at all
• Does the DJ seem to care about you and your party as you communicate with each other in an interview. Does the DJ communicate well with you and ask you good questions along with offering options and suggestions on how to set
up your party ?
• I hope you found this list helpful and wish you well in your life together. What better way to start life together than with an awesome party ? !
