Luxury for Ladies on the Orient Express – Hen Party Idea for Brides Over 40

So, you’ve found your true love, your wedding plans are under way, everything is all under control and now you may be thinking of what to do for a hen party?
Have you considered a trip on the Orient Express?
The Orient Express British trains are named The British Pullman, which has carriages dating back to the 1920s and The Northern Belle that reflects the style of the 1930s.
Both define pure luxury as you travel through some of Britain’s most beautiful scenery whilst enjoying the ultimate moveable feast. Departing from regional stations throughout the UK, the train is an opulent destination in itself as it visits cities, castles and major events.
I had the pleasure of travelling on the Northern Belle a couple of years ago when I treated my Mum to a day trip from Manchester to the RHS Chelsea Flower Show. From the moment we arrived at Victoria station we knew we would have a day to remember forever.
We departed Manchester at 07.00 where we were greeted by smartly dressed waiters who handed us a peach bellini.  We then enjoyed a leisurely brunch during the outward journey and as the train travels at a slow pace, it allows time to appreciate the British countryside that you usually miss in a blink of an eye.
On arrival onto London a coach transferred us to the Chelsea Flower show where we were admitted through a VIP entrance. (no queue always a bonus).
We spent the afternoon browsing the spectacular gardens (via the Pimms stands) before the coach brought us back to the Northern Belle where we enjoyed a superb silver service dinner with wine and champagne.
The service, presentation and food were exquisite and exceeded all expectations. We shared a table with another couple and her gluten free dietary requirements were also met with a seal of approval.
Time passed us by and we rolled into Manchester at approximately 23.00 hours.
The cost of this trip is currently £355 per person. Which may seem expensive to some but it was a full day of pure luxury and we came away with some fabulous memories. We would definitely do it again without hesitation.
The RHS Chelsea Flower Show is just one fine example of the wonderful trips that the Orient Express offer. Other trips include:
Ladies Day at Ascot
London Vinopolis Wine Tasting
Wimbledon Tennis Centre Court
Harrods and Knightsbridge Shopping
A London West End Show
Rat Pack on the tracks dinner
1920s dinner and a night at the Ritz Hotel in London
There are many more options available, from a meal and journey experience (where you do not disembark), to weekend breaks in London, the Lake District and Scotland.
Of course with such luxury comes a dress code, so its a perfect opportunity to buy a new outfit too (any excuse) and not a pink feather boa in sight. Perfect!
